2019 Portland Reunion October 2nd to 6th, 2019
What a great visit to the Pacific Northwest. It is such a beautiful part of
the world with green forests, majestic mountains and clean air! We stayed in
the Heathman Lodge, a wonderful hotel set up like a real hunting lodge, and
were treated well. Our day trips took us to the Oregon Historical Society
museum. This was a special treat for the boomers among us because the museum
had the traveling Grammy Museum Beatles exhibit. We had a delicious lunch at
Huber's, Portland oldest restaurant. We took a scenic cruise of the Portland
waterfront along the Willamette River. We also took a scenic drive on the
Evergreen Highway, across the Columbia River on the “Bridge of the Gods” and
to beautiful Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon.
At the banquet dinner we had our very own Bill Bonelli, 773rd, deliver a
memorable talk about his experiences during the war. It was a good time for
all!
